Awana

Wow, what a great evening. Tonight was the kick off night of Awana. What's Awana? I didn't really know the answer to that question until tonight either... and I'm a leader! I have a class of ten 3, 4 and 5 year olds. I had no idea how much fun I could have with a group of kids -- and how tiring it could be. We ate ice cream, ran a relay race, played "guess the animal" and even managed to learn a little about God. :-) I can remember every one of my kid's names (including E!), which is a special feat for me since I'm horrible with names. It's incredible how trusting kids can be if you just call them by name. I got more hugs than I can count tonight, not counting the near-dogpile at one point. We go every Sunday. It's going to be a fun year.

I am glad you enjoyed it honey! I hope that one day I will be able to come and witness how wonderful it is!

I'm gonna go ahead and say "no thanks" to that kind of decor.

Doesn't quite fit into my style...

I'll take two! Not.

E's First Day

Today was E's first day of preschool. She was pumped this morning, and I got to be part of the action in dropping her off. Really, there wasn't much to it. We went into the building and she walked into her classroom and was done with us. Take E to school: check. I even remembered shoes.

She had a great day, and was excited to tell about it. She even said a couple of things in Spanish that we don't understand. Crazy. Tonight we realized that she's going to start using Spanish words and we won't have a clue what she's saying.

Thank you for being there today sweetie! I can't believe she is in pre-school! Her speaking Spanish tonight was funny and we might be in trouble soon!

It is a little sad that she didn't even give us a hug

I'm so glad Emma had a great first day! Maybe she can teach Colin some spanish...

I had to chuckle about Colin speaking Spanish. :-)

Helpful?

I was trying to be helpful today by loading up the car while Casey was getting ready. I put the bottles in the diaper bag, put the kids in the car, got each of them water and off we went. It was when we pulled up to a place to eat that E announced that she and M didn't have shoes. *forehead slap*

I tried...

That's awesome! Did you have your spare matching set in the trunk for such an event???

I appreciate the help sweetie and it all worked out! No biggie!!

It happens to everybody. Sadly it happened to me so often, and with only one pair to remember, I now keep our shoes in the car. It's sad but effective.

You gave me a laugh while I was at work!
