I was vacuuming the kitchen yesterday (it was after lunch, rice was everywhere) and I kept dropping the vacuum as I zoomed around the dining room. I was trying to be fast, not clumsy. I don't come with one without the other. I ended up dropping it on my toe. If there's such a thing as bruising a toe, I think that's what I did. It's sore, but only when I move it. So if I just stay in one place all day long... :-)
Emma amazes me every day! She is such a cute little singer now. She will go around the house singing "God of Wonders", "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse", "ABC's", and many others. She will clap and dance and just has so much fun! We will be taking her on August 5th to see The Wiggles and man is she excited. Everyday she asks me, "I go see Wiggles?" then I have to sadly tell her "no sweetie, two more weeks." She has a new favorite movie -- Mary Poppins. I usually let her watch one DVD a day and she has been wanting Mary Poppins every day. She does still ask for Buzz but our Toy Story dvds need some fixing, they have been played so much they are scratched. I just wanted to share what she has been up to. She is such an angel and I can't believe how well behaved and fun she is.
Madison has taken off in the language department. Words I've heard her say today: "Hi" (of course), "Daddy", "shoes", "go" and of course a whole bunch of baby gobbledegook that's very cute. And with that, I'm off to continue to be amazed by my daughters...
I got home this morning at 5:40. I was up all night partying... with the new server. I wish it were as fun as a party. It was definitely rewarding in the end, but the uneasy feelings mounted the further we got into the migration process. If I weren't so exhausted and hadn't taken a hot shower to relax, I might have been up worrying or wondering about how things were going to go during production hours today.
As it turns out, everything went amazingly smoothly and didn't warrant the worry at all. When I got up this morning (at 11) and called in they had very little to report. I did have to go into the office for a while this afternoon to sort out the leftover pieces, but it wasn't that bad. It just goes to show you that once again, worrying doesn't do you any good. If it's going to go bad or good, it will.
Casey got her new laptop today. We got it on eBay, but it's in great shape and it's probably only about a year old. She's very excited, and managed to get most of it set up herself. It's a mac. Yeah. I don't know anything about them... and I may have screwed it up. I was copying all of her pictures and music over to it (which was pretty darn easy, frankly) using the wireless when I decided it was too slow that way. I hooked it up with a patch cable and cancelled the copy over the wireless... except it didn't cancel. It kept going. So then I decided I'd just disable the "AirPort" (wireless) on it and see if it would stop. It stopped, but the window won't go away saying that it's trying to copy. The whole dang thing is just sitting there with this little rainbow-colored spinning cursor thing. It's been almost an hour. I may not be cut out for Macs.
It's been so long since my last post that I'm a stranger around here now. I was just about to put it off again when I figured that I've got to put a stop to it somehow, even if this is my only post in a while yet again. Everything is going really well. Discovering Madison's allergies and changing her diet have to be the best things to happen to her as of yet. She's starting eating table food like crazy and seems to be gaining weight. At this point her weight gain seems a little more apparent visually than it is on a scale, although she has gained some over the past month.
Emma is speaking in complete sentences and is the cutest 2 year old I know. We're working with her currently on remembering to ask nicely and calmly when she wants something instead of immediately resorting to whining, and although progress is slow I believe she's coming along.
Casey is doing well, although the difficulties of the first trimester seem to be hanging around with her even though she's now in the second. Hopefully things will get easier on her in the next few days so that she can enjoy the next several weeks. We've been talking lately about the room situation for the girls and the new baby and know that some changes are in order but haven't started on them yet. Actually, each time we talk about it we change it up a little bit, so I'm not even sure we know quite what we're going to do just yet!
