Anyone notice a change in one of the web cams starting yesterday? A prize for the first person to point it out. :-)
Wow, she is two months old now, I can't believe it. Madison had a great check up. She is 9lbs 8 ounces(25%) and 231/2 inches(90%). We are thinking they measured her wrong, how can one of our kids be in the 90% for length? Her doctor thinks that she may have a little bit of reflux but we aren't going to do medicine unless it doesn't work itself out. For some feedings she likes to sit in her bouncer so she is more upright, that helps with the reflux but then I don't get to hold my baby :( She will continue to be on the neocate until she is 4 months old, if her tummy issues have improved by then we will get to go to normal formula.
Maddy has some eczema issues but we figured she would, since Chris, Emma, and I all have it. She got four shots by four different nurses at the same time, She handled it very well but of course she screamed. Madison has really started to smile a lot and make sounds, it is amazing how much she has changed these past two months. She goes for her next check up at 4 months.
Emma is a wonderful big sister! Anytime Madison cries Emma will give her a hug, pat her head or belly, and try to give her a paci. We got two amazing girls, I am so thankful for them both!
Well, I think that is all for now! We now have new pics of Emma up!
Casey and Madison are at her two-month doctor appointment right at this moment. I can't wait to hear how big she is now. She's changed so much in just two short months!
Last night we took the girls to a Ranger game with most of Casey's family. Tab and Chad didn't come because Tabitha's morning sickness was so bad. I hope that second trimester starts "early" for her and that it's a lot easier on her. For the first couple innings it was as hot as you might expect, but as soon as the sun set it was great. We actually sat right there in the seats until the 7th (Emma too!). I wasn't expecting a disaster or anything, but the whole event went much better than I had imagined. I wouldn't mind going again sometime!
After watching most of the game, we headed over to the common area where the kid's games are and Emma got to meet a few boys that were about her age. At first she completely ignored them (way to go Emma!) but after a while one of them came up and gave her a hug and after that point she paid them a little more attention and walked around with them a bit. Once the girls get older I'll have to remember to bring boy repellant with us when we go out...
Normally I don't post anything when we put up new pictures other than on "Recent Glances" on the right, but since it's been so long and there's been so much demand I'd like to point out that there's a whole new album of Maddy pics over there now. New Emma pics coming very soon!
Lets all have a moment of silence for Chris' computer, as of this morning it died. Poor Chris he went into work and there was a big problem and the people that could help fix it are either on vacation or don't come in to work later, then his computer died. We need to make sure his day gets better.
I was hoping everyone can keep praying for my sister. Morning sickness has hit her and it is awful. I feel so bad for her and wish I could take it away from her. It helps knowing that in months a new precious Angel will join our family. I wonder what the baby will look like. Kegan and Cade were beautiful babies and are handsome young boys now, I am sure this baby will be gorgeous! I am hoping that the baby will be close to Emma and Madison, especially Madison because they will be less than a year apart.
For years there were two grandsons and then all of sudden two granddaughters, if Tab and Chad have a girl, which I know they will, the girls will out number the boys just like that.
Kegan and Cade are going to be awesome big brothers. When I watched them last week they were so wonderful with Emma and Madison. I hope the continue that with their baby brother or sister.
Well, anyways I would appreciate it if you kept my sister in your prayers. She is battling morning sickness, work, and summer school.
Mmmm... banana. I'm starving. Thank goodness for lunch meetings with pizza. Mmmm... pizza and meeting.
I am so excited, I am getting into a new hobby and it is just the greatest. I am going to sign up to be a demonstrator for Stampin' Up. I don't know if I will actually sell anything to people but when I was going to buy stuff it ended up being better for me to sign up and get the starter kit. I can't wait to get started. It is great to finally have a hobby that is just for me!
Emma is becoming a toddler for sure :( She has had many temper tantrums the past few days, the hard part is she looks so cute in the middle of them. I am scared to see what is in store for us. Madison is doing well, she has moved out of our room and into her very own room! So far she is doing well in there and the first night she slept 6 hours straight! Her tummy issues seem to be getting better. I had an allergic reaction to the medicine I was taking to get my supply back and had to stop, so we aren't going down that route anymore. God must have wanted it that way otherwise it would have worked out better. Luckily she seems to be doing better on her own! She goes for her two month check up on Tuesday July 26th.
I will stop boring everyone now!
We don't have a toddler. We have a daredevil in training!
Ya know, I felt the need to post something but I can think of absolutely nothing to say. It's not that there aren't great things going on, it's just that my mind is completely blank right now. I think I might be having a little brain fry from the freaking problem I've been working on here at work. Sigh.
Today Maddy had her check up and she is doing ok but she still has some tummy issues. Our doctor wants me to start pumping again to see if I can rebuild my milk supply. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make her better but I need your prayers and thoughts. I am scared and I pray that I can get my supply back so she can eat and be healthy. Please pray that things go well and my supply comes back.
I have finally found a hobby that I just love! On Saturday I went to a Stampin Up demonstration at Lisa's house and just had so much fun. I already picked out tons of things I want from the catalog and can't wait to get started!
This week I will be watching Kegan and Cade, I am not sure what we will do yet but I am sure we will have fun. I have missed spending time with them. Poor Tabitha, morning sickness has hit her. If you can please pray it isn't too awful for her and that she sails through this pregnancy! Last week we went shopping and bought lots of clothes for the new baby, the closet is getting full already!!!
Emma and Madison are doing well. Emma is still a huge Wiggles fan and is just a happy go lucky girl. She is dancing more and more and trying to sing along with songs. Madison is doing well. She is growing and is finally spreading out her feedings some :) She does have a lot of gas still that causes her a lot of pain. We go to the doctor today to get her weighed and for a quick check up to make sure the new formula is working ok. I will let you know how it goes.
We are working on getting more pictures up so keep checking the site and eventually they will be up!!!
We never went far from Copley Place (the area where we were staying downtown) so Doug and I watched the buildings go by. I glance up at the cabbie and he's taking a sip of some water. Looking out the window I notice the third Dunkin' Donuts go by, so I say quietly to Doug, "Wow, that's the third Dunkin' Donuts! They have more Dunkin' Donuts here than Starbucks!"
Cabbie: "You want coffee? I stop and get coffee! You want coffee?"
The cabbie picks up a Starbucks cup and takes a sip.
Doug, Me: "No, that's ok."
I give Doug a funny look. The cabbie turns the radio on and then right back off. He reaches into the glovebox and rustles around, grabs a CD and puts it in. After two seconds of track 1 he flips forward and then immediately turns the stereo back off. Odd. Then I notice out the window that we're passing through Chinatown. Even quieter, I say to Doug, "Hey, look that McDonald's has Chinese characters all over it."
Cabbie: "You want eat dinner? We stop and eat! You want dinner?"
Doug: "No, we already ate."
The cabbie picks up a Dunkin' Donuts cup and takes a sip. We turn down yet another alley, the cabbie driving slowly (as he has the entire trip). I give Doug a nervous look and he grimaces a bit. We pull up to a light. The cabbie turns to me and extends his hand, "What your name?"
Me: "Chris."
I reach out to shake his hand.
Cabbie: "I'm Jesus Christ."
Stunned silence.
Cabbie: "What, you no believe me? I save people who are good!"
Geez. We're gonna die. It's over. It was an OK trip while it lasted. Then suddenly Doug says a little too loudly, "There's the airport!"
We got there in 20 minutes... in rush hour. Our crazy cabbie knew what he was doing.
Wow, what a weekend we had! We found out that Tabitha and Chad are pregnant! Her due date will be some time in March. We are so excited for them and I can't wait to meet my new little niece or nephew, I think it will be a girl this time!
We went to Kobes Steakhouse on July 3rd and then watched fireworks at Kaboom Town in Addison! It was soo much fun and Emma really enjoyed watching the fireworks, Maddy just slept!
We found out today that we are probably going to go to Walt Disney World next July!!!!! Tabitha and Chad have a conference at the end of June so they will stay the week after and go to Disney World, we will meet up with them. I am soo excited. WOOHOOOO, everyone knows how much I love Disney. Thanks Tab and Chad for having a conference next summer in Orlando!
Mickey watch out the crazy Misch, Branum, and Kolb Family are on their way next summer!!!!
On our way back to Logan International Airport on Thursday night, Doug and I had an interesting cabbie... to say the least.
I get into the cab and settle in, waiting for Doug to get cash at the ATM. The cabbie turns to me and says in a thick (almost unintelligible) Russian accent, "You take cab from airport?"
Me: "Huh?"
Cabbie: "You take cab from airport when you get here?"
Me: "Oh, yeah."
Cabbie: "How much cost you?"
Me: "Uh... about $30." Oops, that probably wasn't something I should have said. Well, he has to play by the meter anyway, right?
Cabbie: "It costs less to get to airport."
Me: "Really? Why?"
Cabbie: "Less toll. Less fee. From airport $17+$4.50+$2+$1.75+... But I get you airport $30. That ok? $30?"
Me: "Uh... I guess if that's what it comes to..." What in the world? Is this how this works? What about the meter?
Cabbie: "Where you from?"
Me: "Dallas."
Cabbie: "Texas?"
Me: "Yes, Texas." Wow. I wonder how long he's lived around here. Must have been born in Russia or something. "You grow up around here?"
Cabbie: "No."
Silence for several minutes. I figured he'd tell me about where he was from and when he came here and so forth... he didn't say another word. Finally, Doug arrives and we take off.
To be continued...
Boston was fun... I really missed being here at home but I did learn some things at the conference and in general had a good trip. I'll have to tell more when I get a chance.
We found out this morning that Madison is being switched to Neocate, the special-order hypoallergenic formula that Emma was on for a little while. Fortunately Target in Frisco has a couple of cans in stock so we'll be able to start right away. Hopefully it'll clear up the feeding problems that Madison has been having. Things will be a lot less stressful once she's able to eat problem-free.
In spite of that, we're very happy around here and things are going great. We have a fun family weekend planned, and in fact we're late to meet family right now!
