Sorry if blogger is still messed up, hopefully it will be better today...
Chris is in Boston and we miss him like crazy. This is the first time since we have been married and have had the girls that Chris has gone away. At least it isn't a long trip, he comes home late tomorrow night :)
Emma has started spinning for fun, it is the cutest thing. I was watching her play last night an I can't believe how grown up she is. She is no longer a baby at all she has become a little girl. I am amazed how the time flies. I can't believe how much she learns each day and how she has quite an imagination. My friend Lisa made a list of all the words her daughter Mary knows, so I decided to make a list of Emma's. So far I have over 20 and I know there are more but I haven't had a chance to write them down.
What a good weekend we had!!! On Saturday we had a slow and easy day. Chris picked Tabby up from the airport and then Janel came over, we watched a movie and just had fun. Janel got to meet Madison for the first time. We got pictures of that and they will be up sometime soon! Sunday was another slow day, we just stayed home most of the day and rested then went to dinner with Doug and Lisa at Steak and Shake. It was nice to have a easy relaxing weekend!
Chris will be going to Boston tomorrow and I am sad he will be gone. He comes home Thursday so it isn't that long but we will still miss him. At least next weekend is a three day weekend!
I would like to ask everyone to pray for happy things for my sister! I can't say specifically why she needs prayers but if everyone could just pray for things to go right for her, I would appreciate it! She really deserves it!!!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!!
Emma is such a great big sister! She has started to help us burp Madison. She doesn't do it too hard or anything and sometimes can even get a burp out of Maddy! I am so impressed with our little Princess!
Madison is growing like a weed! On Monday she weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and I think she is moving out of newborn diapers and into size 1. She seems to be growing faster than Emma did even though she started out smaller. Maddy is also getting really good at holding her head up and sometimes she even tries to roll over.
Well, Miss Emma is up from her nap so maybe next time I will get to write more besides just stuff about my two princesses!!
We are currently taking donations for Emma's Shoe Fund! We bought Emma new shoes right before Madison was born and we bought them big, well Emma decided to grow some more and now they don't fit. So yesterday I went to Stride Rite and bought brand new sandals and then some shoes for the fall that were on sale. Did I mention that she can only wear Stride Rite because she needs wides and they are the only ones that fit her. I can't believe how fast her feet grow!
Emma has a fascination with Madison's bottles... she likes to carry them around and play with them. Last week right after I was done feeding Madison, Emma started reaching for the bottle that I'd put down on the couch. I said, "Go get the lid and you can have the bottle", and motioned towards the table where the lid was. Emma walked right over, grabbed the lid and brought it back to me! I was both shocked and excited. It's all about the small things in life. :-)
She's growing up so fast.
Today was a big day for our Miss Emma. We bought her a toddler bed since she always seemed to really like Mary's. She seemed really excited when she saw it . Bedtime was a little hard on her. It took her awhile to get used to it but she eventually got to sleep. Hopefully tomorrow will go a little better, we shall see. I am both excited and sad about the bed. I am excited because I think she is ready and really will enjoy it. I am sad because my baby is growing up :(
Another thing that happened to Emma today was she had a fever of 102. That was the highest she has ever had, her doctor thinks it is just a viral infection that will have to work its course. We cuddled for a long time and once the tylenol kicked in she was up and playing again!!
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!! I hope it is great for all of you!!!
Well, once again I had to go to the doctor, I sound like a broken record. I have bronchitis :( I have had a cough for a couple of days and it has gotten worse. Poor Chris had to stay home and take care of the girls, he did a great job. I was given some medicine so hopefully it wont get bad like it did with Emma and I get pneumonia.
Emma is doing really well..She becomes cuter everyday. I can't believe how lucky I am to have her and Maddy. Madison is doing well, we had to change her bottles because the nipples were too fast for her. She is now eating with no problems and actually getting the 2 ounces of formula she is supposed to have.
Well, I am going to rest now because I just took robitussin with codeine in it.
This weekend was a very good weekend. On Saturday we went shopping with my family and then to dinner. On Sunday we just stayed at home and relaxed, it was great!
Miss Emma had a growth spurt, I know I will get laughs for that. She all of sudden out grew size 3 diapers and 12 month clothes. We had to go buy new pj's for her and some new clothes. She now wears size 12-18 months. It is sad that she is almost 16 months and just now getting into 12-18 month clothes, but that is ok, she is cute just the way she is.
Well, Madison is up now, so I must go feed her. I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Casey's MRI was straightforward but we don't know when we'll get results. We'll keep you posted!
In about an hour Casey's meeting me at work so we can head over to get her MRI done. I'm hoping that they find something that can be done about her pain, although I'm sure it'll take a while to get the results and take action. She's always had lower back pain but it has been really unbearable the last few weeks.
I'm hoping to get new pictures posted this weekend... priority one: Maddy. :-) I haven't posted anything new in over a month so I've got the itch.
Today was another round of doctor's appointments for the Kolb family. Madison had her 2 week check up today. She is doing really well, she gained back her weight and even then some. She now weighs 6 pounds 8 ounces! Her doctor said that she is growing and seems very healthy. She goes back to the doctor in July!
I also saw the doctor for back pain I have been having. I go for an MRI on Friday to see if anything is wrong or if it is just from the pregnancy. The doctor also found blood in my urine, sorry I know that is gross, so we have to wait until Friday to see what the test says about that. I am sure everything will be ok and I will keep everyone updated.
We go back to the doctor tomorrow for Chris, he will be getting allergy testing done! The medical field just loves the Kolb family:)
Madison had her first real bath today, she didn't like it at all. She screamed through the whole thing but when it was over she went right back to sleep.
She is doing really well, her jaundice is gone and we had to switch formulas. She is now on a low iron formula that is milk based. So far she isn't spitting up so hopefully she wont have the same type of problems Emma had. Emma was on every type of formula and eventually had to be put on a hypo-allergenic formula only available by prescription, which insurance didn't cover.
Things are going really well and we are very blessed to have two wonderful little girls. Hopefully we will get pictures up soon, sorry we have been busy!
I forgot to mention that we did have friends remember our Anniversary...They sent emails and we really appreciated it!! Sorry I forgot to mention it and I really didn't mean for my post to make people feel bad.. I guess I didn't write it the way I meant for it to come out.. I just thought it was funny we got so many calls from so many different people on Wednesday for many reasons, but none of them were to say Happy Anniversary. Sorry if I offended or hurt anyone's feelings.
Only three people remembered our anniversary :( We got tons of calls on our anniversary but only my mom, dad, and Julie said Happy Anniversary! Oh well.
Madison has a doctor appointment today to make sure she is doing ok on her formula, I will let everyone know how that goes. Emma is still doing wonderful with her and is a great big sister. The girls and I are starting to adjust with Chris going back to work. He is only doing half days right now but it is a good slow transition for us!
Emma has starting singing to some of The Wiggle songs...It is the cutest thing :) I can't wait to take her to the concert, I think she will really enjoy it.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
Today Chris and I have been married for two wonderful years!! I can't believe it and I am so happy. Marrying Chris was the best decision I have ever made. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband. I love you Chris!
Today we had a great day! We went to the mall and let Emma play at the play place, she had a blast. We also bought Emma and Madison some clothes from the gap with the gift card Eric and Becca gave us. Thanks guys, we were able to get a lot of clothes because they had a great sale! We also had to get Madison some preemie sleepers because she is just so tiny. Also, newborn diapers don't really fit Maddy so we had to get preemie ones.
Madison saw her doctor yesterday and everything looks ok. She is 6 pounds even and her jaundice seems to be ok. It did rise but not by much, we are supposed to make sure she continues to have wet diapers and that her formula intake doesn't go down.
Well, I sit here and am just amazed at how wonderful my life is. I have two amazing beautiful girls and the best husband in the world. How could life get better?
