And then there were four... Kolbs, that is. :-)

Madison is wonderful... and tiny! I had forgotten so quickly how small Emma was when she was born. Madison is slightly smaller, but still around the same size. Emma feels so big and grown-up compared to her! She did keep us up most of the night, but who expected anything different? I may have a different opinion when I'm so sleep deprived that I can't see straight, but I think it's great even when it's crazy around here.

Today we had to go to the store (I know, we're crazy, but we needed stuff). Emma and Madison rode in the double stroller for the first time. Every time Madison fussed Emma would reach over and pat her or try to give her the paci. It's amazing how quickly she seems to have bonded with Madison. Emma gets so excited around her and although we're working on her being gentle, she's very loving already.

WOW! You and Casey are truly blessed with two sweet young ladies. I think Emma is so good natured from good parents. It's really cute to see she's already passing it on. I hope you are both able to rest a bit. I already can't wait until that first birthday to compare just how much she's grown.

My comment didn't post! Well in a nut shell... I'm glad there are more Kolbs around. Emma is a sweet girl because she has an awesome mom and dad. I can't wait until Madison's first birthday to see just how much she grows in a year.

On Thursday May 26th at 1:09pm our beautiful blonde haired Miss Madison was born. She was 6 lbs 5 ounces and was 19'' long. I was hooked up to pitocin at about 8:30 in the morning and at about 10 they broke my water. I had a lot of back labor because Madison decided to lay in the wrong position but at the very end she turned correctly. Her heart rate would drop really low during contractions so I had to be put on oxygen but it turned out ok. After about 20 minutes of pushing Madison came out and caused me barely any damage, much easier than with Emma I must say! Chris got to cut the cord and the doctor placed her on my belly once she came out, both of these experiences we missed with Emma, it was amazing. Chris and the doctor would talk about camera stuff in between pushes but I didn't mind! It was a wonderful birth!!!!

After breastfeeding twice Chris, the nurses, and I decided that it wasn't for me. While feeding her I would just watch the clock for it to be over and not want the next feeding to come. I was very emotional and it just didn't click for me. I know some people may be disappointed, I was myself but I think our decision was for the best. I think both Madison and I will be happier now! I just hope people don't think I am a failure or think badly of me.

Madison does have jaundice and we almost didn't get to leave the hospital because of it but after sitting by the window for hours the level only rose a little so the let us go home. We have to keep an eye on her and if it gets worse we need to take her to the ER. She goes to the doctor on Tuesday to get it checked again.

Our first night home was what it should be with a newborn. Madison decided she didn't like to sleep so we were up most of the night. We are staying positive and we have a cute little toddler to not make us think about being tired, so I think we will be ok!

Emma has been wonderful with Madison. At the hospital she kept saying "baby" and would point to her. She only had one major bout of jealousy and it went away quickly. She has given Madison several kisses without us even asking her to. I think she will be such a great sister.

I am so blessed to have two wonderful little girls! Thank you to everyone who came and visited us and helped us out. We really appreciate it!

Wow what a day today has been! Emma and I both had doctors appointments today. Emma had her 15 month and Chris said she did really well, she didn't even cry for the doctor. She got two shots, she did cry for that, and had blood drawn. She weighs 20lbs and is 28.5 inches long, I think. She is doing really well and becoming a big girl, she doesn't get another shot until she is 4!!!

My appointment was mixed good and bad. My ultrasound took forever because Madison wouldn't do a breathing movement that they needed her to do so finally they gave up. She is still weighing behind and since the last ultrasound she didn't really grow that much. Some of her measurements are still at 33 weeks when I am almost 38 weeks now. They still think she is ok and that she is just small. The good news about the appointment is I am going to be induced on Thursday May 26th. That is the day after tomorrow!!! WOOHOOOOOOO I am so excited, I can't wait to meet her. We knew he was going to schedule for me to be induced but we thought it would be next week. I guess he was concerned about her little growth and the fact I am already 3cm dilated and 80% effaced.

When I get back from the hospital and have time I will post about our new bundle of joy!

Everyday Emma and I watch The Wiggles and she loves the music that they sing. Earlier this week she started dancing to the songs, it is the cutest thing. She is getting good at dancing and seems to really enjoy it. Chris and I will probably put her in dance next summer! We also found out that The Wiggles are coming to Dallas in August, so guess who is going to see them? We have decided to take Emma, I think she will really enjoy it. Tickets go on sale on Monday so hopefully we are able to get them!

Today we bought a washer! I am so excited, our clothes will no longer have rust stains. We got our current washer and dryer from Tab and Chad when we moved into our house, they are at least 10 years old. Amazingly they still work great the only problem is that washer now is rusting, so we are only replacing that!

I go to the doctor on Tuesday, I know it seems like I go all the time. Hopefully we will schedule a date to induce that day, I will let you know!

Casey watched Cade for most of last summer, and ever since then Emma has always responded well to him. Today Emma kept following Cade around. Cade would walk into the kitchen for a drink, and Emma would tag right along. Cade moved from the couch to the recliner, and Emma would follow him over. It's so nice to see them with such a strong bond. :-)

BTW, we paid under $2 a gallon for gas today. It's a small miracle.

Oh, anyone missing a Shrek soundtrack? I was going through my CDs today and realized I have had two of them for a probably a very long time.

Well I am no longer allowed to drive :( Today on our way to lunch I blacked out and hit a curb. They think it is because my iron level is too low but we will find out for sure on Friday! I will be stuck at home until Miss Madison decides to come.

Let me know if there's anything I can do... I should have next Tuesday off if there's anything I can help with then.

Just glad to hear you're both ok.

We'll get you out and do stuff. There's no need for cabin fever to set in, there's plenty of time for that after Madison gets here. :-)

We had such a great weekend! Emma had her first trip to the Fort Worth Zoo. She really enjoyed seeing all of the animals and seeming to have a good time! It was hot and I was in pain but it was fun to have a fun trip with just the three of us. Hopefully pictures will be up soon!!!

Cade graduated from pre-school on Saturday...I balled of course, I can't believe he is going to be in kindergarten. Where does the time go? He looked so cute in his cap and gown!

On Sunday I had my diaper shower hosted by Lisa!! It was so much fun to have dinner with friends and they all got us diapers so we are set! Now all we need is Madison..My next appointment is Thursday, I will post once I get back...

It's been so long since I last posted that I actually got my password wrong the first try! Things are going really well with Madison (as you've heard). We're trying to plan something nice to do as a family before she's born. We'd like to go to the zoo but it doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate this weekend. We've considered the aquarium but it's pretty pricey. Any ideas?

What about Kid Country in Coppell or the DMA on Thursdays? (It's free minus parking and is open late so you can avoid the rush). There's the ball park which has a tour during the week for just a couple of bucks a person. You get to walk through the tunnels and around the field. I bet you could get boys for that one! I'll work on more...

I have decided that I have the cutest little girl in the world. I really don't know how we got so lucky to have such an amazing little girl like Emma. Everyday she amazes me, she always knows how to make me smile. I love her smiles, giggles, and everything else she does! It is so amazing what she is learning. She now knows where her hair, head, nose, and belly are. When I say lets go change your diaper she walks herself to the changing table and when I say it is nap time she walks to the stairs. At night she knows that she has to get her teeth brushed before bed so she walks to the bathroom and then after she is done she will walk to her crib. When we say her nightly prayer she has the biggest smile and when we say Amen she says her version of it, it is the cutest thing. She also says princess now, I guess I say that too much! I am just so blessed to have her as my daughter.

I also wanted to share that my nephew Kegan has made all-stars in baseball. He made the first team, the best team. I am so proud of him and can't wait to see him play! He is an awesome baseball player. Also, Cade is in his second season of teeball and doing great. He never loses his position when he is on the field, what a cutie!!!!

It's baby season! Kent (Chris and I went to school with Kent) and Jill Scherler had a little girl named Anna last week. There sure are a lot of girls being born amongst my friends!!!

Sounds like she's going to have a great big sister. I can't wait to see just how much she's grown.

WOOOHOOOOO I am 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced!!!! I am so excited, Madison could come at anytime. Of course with Emma I was 2 cm for a month, but usually with the second things happen faster. The doctor said Madison is doing really well and I no longer have to go twice a week. He said that she is just a small baby but everything looks good! I go once a week and next week I will have the non stress test and the following week I will have a sonogram. We will be inducing a week or week and half before the due date! Of course I may go into labor before then, please send labor dust my way!!!! We will keep you updated!!!!

I am so tired of being pregnant. I am also tired of not feeling well and having stupid contractions and stabbing pains all the time. I can no longer sleep and with all of this I have to chase a toddler. Luckily I was blessed with such a wonderful little girl like Emma. We have been watching The Wiggles and Baby Einstein. She loves both of them and always asks for more. If it wasn't for me feeling like crap she wouldn't be watching so much TV, hopefully I can kick her of this habit once I am doing better. Plus I think I know every Wiggle song there is and instead of singing songs on the radio I catch my self singing Wiggle songs. Oh I love being a mommy!!!!

My appointment is tomorrow so I will post on how it went tomorrow night or Friday. On Monday he said that he will take her a couple weeks early, so we will see when that is! Everyone wish me luck that I am dilated tomorrow!!!!

On Friday Chris surprised me with a new Brighton purse and wallet, it is so beautiful and the name of the purse is Emma :) Sunday Emma drew me two pictures and Chris gave me a beautiful card. We then went to brunch with my family at Cracker Barrel and then went shopping at an outlet mall. I had a great time and really enjoyed it!! It was a wonderful Mother's Day! I have the best husband and daughter in the world!!!

Miss Madison did great at her appointment today! She is growing, still behind, but growing! They estimate she weighs 5 pounds 2 ounces. I continue to go twice a week and if she stops growing or they feel something is wrong they are ready to take her immediately. My Dr. said we will probably deliver early and if I start to dilate and she is still measuring behind he will more than likely induce. They start checking for dilatation next Thursday, what fun that is:(

I am ready for this pregnancy to be over and ready to not be pregnant for the next 3 years or so. I know most of you are probably saying yeah right but it is the truth. We WILL NOT get pregnant again any time soon. We are going to take measures to make sure it doesn't happen and if it does then it is a true miracle of God.

Emma had another milestone today! We turned around her car seat! She now faces forward and is loving it. The first time she rode forward facing she didn't know what to think but then she just giggled and laughed. She is becoming such a big girl!

My appointments are next Monday and Thursday and I will update everyone on Thursday!

Recently it was announced at work that we'd be hiring two new developers -- a junior and a senior developer. It's the first time we've ever hired a senior developer. Since that's the same level that I'm at it will definitely be interesting. I'm kinda excited about it.

Speaking of excitement... when the new senior developer starts he and I will move into Doug's office and Doug will move down the hall. I'm sure I'll miss the antics of the developer cube room but I'm pretty excited about moving into an office, even if it's shared with another person.

Oh, I posted new pictures. Check out "Recent Glances" on the right for links.
